Deep questions – deep responses
Recently, I decide to challenge myself to ask deeper questions.
With the ChatGPT Plus license, we’re allowed to use the Deep Research feature 26 times per month. In April, I used it about 3 times. I realized I may be missing out on perhaps the most valuable tool ChatGPT offers.
Deep Research reports are easily 5-10 pages of analysis, with very detailed and accurate responses. These reports are completed in 15 minutes what would take a personal assistant a long time to research and write. To put it in perspective, if I hired a personal assistant to do the same work that Deep Research provides, it would take over 8 hours. If my personal assistant charged $20/hour, that’s approximately $160 worth of value for every request. If I use Deep Research 26 times a month, I can realize over $4000 of value. Considering I pay $20/month for the ChatGPT license, that’s a whopping $3980 of value just from this one feature.
For the month of May I’ve challenged myself to ask Deep Research a question every work day. Some of my questions are work related, such as:
“Give me a list of key technology skills to learn to develop an AI personalized curriculum project.”
Some of the questions are personal, such as:
“Which countries have the best immigration policies and environment for US citizens looking to retire there?”
Either way, the results have been astounding. Check out this response to my question about immigration in retirement. The response mimics prior research I’ve done on this subject (not sure I want to do that, but I at least know my options). Panama? I great place to retire. Portugal, also excellent. Why? There’s several pages of text explaining why.
Asking these deep questions daily, I hope to develop the habit of deep thinking – considering deep questions that I’ve been too afraid to ask due to the difficulty in finding the answers.
With Deep Research, those answers are in reach. By using this feature daily, asking deep questions becomes a habit. Reading the responses, gives me deep knowledge. All around, its amazing. This one feature is supercharging my approach to life in the age of AI.
